Well done everybody yesterday. Conditions were testing for both boats and crew, but it was a great day’s sailing. I know some gear was found wanting, but so long as nobody got hurt, it’s no harm to show up any weaknesses and get them sorted out. Better that than a failure in more serious circumstances later. And well done in the Fireball; managing a high performance craft in those conditions is not easy, but when you get it going, it sure is fun.
Our thanks to all who assisted; in particular, Michael for committee boat, Elwyn and others for hauling club boats back and forth (I was a bit concerned when I saw how far his car was into the water), Matt for rescue boat, and Patricia for tea and biscuits in the club room after.
Looking at the results, it is great to see four within 32 seconds on corrected lap time in Race 5. And don’t assume Swag Bag has got the series “in the bag”. Connor is doing very well, but we are only half way through, and wins will get harder!
I look forward to seeing you all and a few more out next week, both to assist on Saturday morning for the Push the Boat Out event and in the afternoon for racing, followed by club room get-together; it’s wonderful what can be sorted out there.
Early signs looks like perfect conditions for this Saturday. Plus the temp is on the up…👍☀️
